We offer different Photowalks in Bansko, so there is always a way to explore Bansko in a new, fun and creative way.

1. Bansko Easy Nature Photowalk

You don’t have to go into the mountains of Pirin to enjoy the beautiful nature around Bansko. You can start in town and see many beautiful spots – we’ll bring you there!

During this photowalk in the beautiful nature around Bansko we focus on:
– Capturing the beauty of nature around Bansko
– Learning more about camera settings via water
– Focusing on the details and learn more about micro photography
– Getting creative with patterns, perspectives and compositions

During the hike we will stop multiple times for some photography tips and time to capture things. Of course you can ask any (photography related) questions during the trip.

You’ll learn the most if you bring a camera with you, since there are more camera settings to play with. But nowadays almost everyone takes photos with their phones as well, so you will definitely learn new things about phone photography as well!

The hike around Bansko is showing you how beautiful nature is and rated as an easy hike. There is little elevation level, so it’s classified as a hike that is possible for most people.

2. Bansko Sunset & In The Dark Photowalk

Let’s capture some nice moments in Bansko during the best moment of the day: the sunset aka golden hour!

We will gather in the late afternoon (starting time depends on sunset time) and walk to a couple of places that are beautiful during the sunset. We will take some creative shots during the golden hour (the moment before the sunset) and the blue hour (the moment after the sun sets).

After the sun leaves us we will slowly walk back to town to end the evening with a drink. Of course we can talk about any issues that you encountered while taking pictures, creative shots you got during the sunset or any other photography related topics. A great way to finish the day with like-minded people!

During the walk we will stop multiple times for some photography tips and time to capture things. Of course you can ask any (photography related) questions during the trip.

3. Demyanitsa Photowalk

During this photowalk in Pirin National Park to the Demyanitsa Hut we focus on:

– Capturing the beauty of nature
– Playing with patterns & perspectives
– Learning more about camera settings via water
– It’s all in the details: micro photography

During the hike we will stop multiple times for some photography tips and time to capture things. Of course you can ask any (photography related) questions during this trip as well!

You’ll learn the most if you bring a camera with you, since there are more camera settings to play with. But nowadays almost everyone takes photos with their phones as well, so you will definitely learn new things about phone photography as well!

The hike to the Demyanitsa Hut is beautiful and rated as a medium hike, since we will have some elevation during the hike. It’s 6 kilometers one-way (12 in total) and the elevation level is about 450 meters from the parking lot to the mountain hut. There is no climbing involved: the trail just goes up gradually and we stop plenty of times to take pictures and have some time to enjoy our surroundings.

Bansko-food-and-hotspots-street-photowalk

4. Bansko Hotspots & Streets Photowalk

Don’t read any further if you’re hungry, because this photowalk in Bansko will definitely make you excited about food! The Bansko Streets & Hotspots Photowalk is a fun walk that focuses on both international & Bulgarian cuisine and different hotspots in Bansko.

During this photowalk we will visit different places where we will try delicious things. We will talk about food photography (and practise of course as well) and street photography (because the streets of Bansko are worth capturing too). Come with an empty stomach!

During this photowalk in Bansko we focus on:
– Food photography: different ways to capture drinks and food. From flat lays to dynamic shots!
– Traditional Bulgarian food that you will try, you won’t be going home with an empty stomach
– Street photography: how can we capture the beauty of the old town of Bansko?

Of course you can ask any (photography related) questions during this trip.

During this photowalk you will try (and capture) the following:
1. Mekitsa (Bulgarian version of a fried donut)
2. Cheese platter, including different types of bread
3. Bulgarian soup (tarator, bean soup, tribe soup)
4. Parlenka (Bulgarian version of flat bread)
5. Mix of salads
6. Bulgarian meat dish
7. Banitsa (a Bulgarian pastry made with filo dough and meat/vegetarian filling)
8. A drink at a specialty coffee place (coffee/tea/hot choco/soda)

Price: 70lv / €35 per person. This includes different drinks and food during the photowalk. Excluded: any purchases that are not included in the photowalk.

5. Kukeri in Eleshnitsa (event photography)

The kukeri tradition is something special to experience and capture in Bulgaria. During orthodox Easter (20th of April 2025) multiple Bulgarians go through the streets of Eleshnitsa (a village close to Bansko) in their kukeri outfits. The kukeri are performing rituals to scare away any evil spirits in town.

During this photowalk in Eleshnitsa we focus on:
– Event & street photography: what to expect?
– Taking pictures of people and things during events
– Learning more about camera settings and reacting quickly to capture great moments
– Getting rid of the fear to take photos in public places

The main event of this trip is at the main square of Eleshnitsa, so we will leave in time to find ourselves a good spot to take photos. Before and during the event I will share tips about event photography. I worked as an event photographer & videographer and it’s exciting that you never truly know what to expect. I have been to the kukeri celebrations in Eleshnitsa for the last 3 years and really enjoyed it. Hopefully we can capture this beautiful tradition in Eleshnitsa together!
